Crazy People

Every Monday I give a short math lesson each to some 3rd graders who are struggling. It is quite rewarding to watch them gain understanding and move forward.

Somedays I forget on Monday so I go in Tuesday mornings instead. Today I returned from teaching a wonderful lesson .(Well the lesson may have been half baked, but the fact that the little girl got the idea that dividing is not subtracting but instead grouping, that moment was brilliant.) I walked into my home to find the answering machine blinking with messages from two crazy people.

Both need me to do something for them RIGHT NOW, because they will die if I don't. I told one, sorry I don't know how to do that. I can't help.  One down and sanity still intact.

After long consideration I told the other, alright I'll do that. She said she'd be right over to pick up paperwork, so I could be official. (Thank goodness my officialness only lasts for one LONG day!) That call ended over an hour ago. She is still not here. So much for the time sensitive, must be done in five minutes, hurry up already...

The trick to dealing with crazy people is to not let them make you CRAZY!!!

I fear I'm failing.
