obviously bored to death and tired of my kind of old car (a car that we still
drive here in 2015 fyi. Also funny to note, we have a Suburban – hand me down.
It isn’t too wide. It is TOO BIG generally, but I drive it anyway. )
I’d really like a new car. Probably won’t get one, but I
thought that I’d research them and find out some info about what my possible
(or impossible) options are.
So I started looking at Toyota Land Cruisers and Land
Rovers. A new Land Rover costs more than I hope to ever have to pay for all the
cars I ever own, so I’m passing on that.
The Land Cruiser has room for eight always a good thing.
I also looked at Mazda’s and Chevy’s. Now Mazda doesn’t have
a 4x4 with enough passenger space. Guess they’re out. And frankly the Tahoe and the Suburban are too wide and
huge. I hate Fords, they are tall and enormous. I suppose that I could look at
the Dodge options. But I really want a Land Cruiser. I would look cute in a new
Land Cruiser. Heck I would look cute in an old Land Cruiser. But, why would
I want to pay $30,000 for a car and have monthly payment to deal with?
I hate
cars.
Oh I just found a Lexus GX 470. It has room for eight
passengers and it is only $45,000 new. What is the difference between invoice and
MSRP, besides a lot of head ache and about $6,000 on this car?
Okay, I just built my Lexus. Some how it was a real let down when I
got to the summary. Why couldn’t they just tell me that they had one in my budget
just down the road? I wish that cars came standard as a bonus from God with each mortal body. Of course I would likely have a worn out pick up truck or something.
Back to the drawing board, do a search on 8 passenger
vehicles and what pops up?
A website for horse drawn buggies. Maybe I should go
back in time.
Or better yet the next item on the search list is an 8 passenger
Daihatsu golf cart. That’s just the thing to haul the kids all around town.
Maybe I’ll just give up on this and go play with the kids. With any luck we can
all just stay happily inside our house and never drive again. And you thought
that a new car was my only dream.
